An almost identical pair of bowls from the E. T. Chow Collection were sold in these Rooms, 12 November 2002, lot 62. A single bowl was sold in our New York Rooms, 27 November 1991, lot 427.
Compare the similar bowl with Daoguang mark illustrated in the catalogue of the exhibition, Imperial Porcelain of Late Qing from the Kwan Collection, Art Gallery, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, 1983, no. 69. Another example is ilustrated by S. Valenstein in A Handbook of Chinese Ceramics, New York, 1989 ed, no. 282.
