A RARE BLANC DE CHINE FIGURE OF BUDDHA
LATE MING DYNASTY, 17TH CENTURY
Finely modelled standing on a short lotus pedestal, wearing long flowing robes tied at the waist leaving the chest bare and elegantly draped over his arm, holding in his left hand a round jewel and with his right arm outstretched to the side in bhumisparsa mudra, the face with a serene expression beneath the tightly curled hair and framed by long pendulous ears

Provenance
Reputedly this figure was in the collection of Paul-Marie-Louis Guilbert (1787 - 1934), a renowned art collector who upon his death bequeathed most of his collection to the City of Rouen.
