SIGNED HIZEN (NO )KUNI JU FUJIWARA TADAHIRO AND DATED KAN'EI JUNEN HACHGATSU KICHI JITSU [AN AUSPICIOUS DAY IN THE EIGHTH MONTH 1633], EDO PERIOD (17th century)
Sugata [configuration]: slender and elegant honzukuri, koshi zori curve, ko-kissaki
Kitae [forging pattern]: fine ko-itame with ji-nie overall, some white bo-utsuri-like lines along the lower part of the blade close to the nioi-guchi
Hamon [tempering pattern]: narrow suguha of konie, kuichigai-ba, ko-maru boshi
Nagasa [length]: 49.1cm.
Koshirae [mounting]: shirasaya with single gold-clad habaki
