FOUR BRONZE MIRRORS, HAN DYNASTY OR LATER (206BC-220AD)
comprising a round mirror, the reverse side with central knop within a square of fine raised lines, the inner roundel with TLV design surrounded by deppctions of fish, birds, snails, frogs and deer, the raised outer bands with concentric panels of triangular motifs; the second mirror, the central roundel with TLV design with fine raised decoration with birds and raised knop sun designs, two bands of raised triangular motifs to extreior edges; the third mirror with wide central raised knop, decorated in high relief with alternating dragon and figure depictions, surrounded by twelve boxed character and half moon designs, bordered by a sloping saw-tooth pattern and a slender band of characters; and a further flagtened undecorated mirror, with small central knop. the upper surface with feint cross patterned lines -- The first, 4 5/8in. (11.7cm.) wide. (4)
