A GROUP OF FOUR BRONZE MIRRORS, HAN DYNASTY (206 BC-AD 220) AND LATER
the first decorated with 'T' motifs on an overall ground of rope design encircling small hearts; the second with four mythological animals amongst scolling and 'L' motifs, all surrounded by a band with zigzag design; the third with the central knop surrounded by figures and animals, within alternating sealmarks and spirals, the outer rim with Chinese characters and scrolling wave bands; the fourth with sixteen lobed star design enclosing a band of multiple studs connected with curvilinear design -- The first, 5½in. (13.5cm.) diam. (4)
