TWO CLOISONNE ENAMELLED BOXES AND COVERS, 18TH CENTURY
comprising a circular box with domed cover, the central roundel with Arabic inscription reading alhamdulillah (Praise to God), surrounded to the cover and body by stylised scrolling lotus on a turquoise ground; and a small square sectioned box decorated with a central lotus flowerhead with colourful scrolling and leafy foliage, gilded to the foot and rims -- the first, 3 7/8in. (9.8cm.) wide. (2)
