A KELSTERBACH FIGURE OF A BOY PLAYING BALL
CIRCA 1761-64
Modelled by Johann Carl Vogelmann, poised on one leg with his head looking up, his right hand reaching up to catch a ball with a green hat, his left hand holding a staff, wearing a red cap, a green-lined jacket with clusters of red dots, his brightly striped breeches with gilt buttons, his yellow shoes with gilt buckles, before a scrolling tree-stump on a green-washed incised scroll-moulded mound base enriched in purple (hat and right arm from elbow broken through and repaired, majority of staff an old restored replacement, two minute chips to hem of jacket at back)
