Wright, and sold by John Herro, [1745?]. 18° (107 x 48mm), woodcut frontispiece and illustrations (frontispiece laid down and with small repair, final leaf waterstain causing severe fading to advertisement on verso, some other leaves waterstained in lower part). Later black morocco, gilt edges (spine and corners rubbed, front blank detached), modern black cloth box. Provenance: Henry A. Sherwin (bookplate).
First published in 1696. The eleventh of twelve editions listed in Westwood and Satchell who comment: "This minute work by an anonymous writer forms one of the marked features of most angling book collections, partly from its merits as a manual, but far more from its rarity ...." Only 2 copies of the present edition are recorded in British Libraries (Bodleian; John Rylands). Weswood & Satchell pp. 181-84.
