Probably Scottish, with double-edged blade cut with running wolf mark on both sides, one face struck with a mark and stamped 'Ferara' at the base, basket-guard of flattened bars, both sides with an indented hexagonal shield carried within a saltire of bars, together with a small side-shield shaped like an inverted feather, fluted low conical pommel, and wooden grip
