Circular, of white ground, the centre decorated with a gilt rosette with a lily, the outside of the well decorated with a stylized red and green leaf ornament, with black and gilt detail, and further with a continuous gilt band flanked by two thin blue bands, the outer border of the plate decorated with eight golden leaf ornaments, painted in puce, black and green, the ornaments joined by four blue bands with further geometric designs in gilt and puce, the inside of two have been left white ground, with the Imperial double-headed eagle painted in one and the crowned Cyrillic monogram 'VKN' painted in the other, marked under base with dark blue underglaze Cyrillic monogram 'N I' beneath the Imperial Russian crown, and the Cyrillic monogram 'VKN'

Based on a design by Feodor Solntsev (1801-1892), the designer of the Kremlin Service, the service was made between 1848-1852. It was ordered on the occasion of the marriage of Grand Duke Konstantin Nikolaevich to Alexandra Iussupovna, Princess of Saxe-Altenburg in 1848.
