The ewer of baluster form with a slightly domed shaped circular cover, the body painted with a loose bouquet of flowers within a green-ground cartouche of entwined leaves and branches edged in gilding and suspending husk swags, the cover with similar ornament, the shaped-oval basin with conforming decoration to the interior, small shallow chip to spout, some patches of wear to gilding

Antoine-Toussaint Cornaille was a painter of flowers, patterns and gilder active at Vincennes and Sèvres 1755-1800.

The répareur mark FR to the ewer may be for either François-Firmin Fresne (Dufresne), active 1756-67, or Françios-Denis Roger, active circa 1755-84.
