Arabic manuscript on paper, 260ff. plus two fly-leaves, each folio with 17ll. of black naskh within cloud bands on gold ground, with gold and polychrome roundel verse markers, sura headings in gold thuluth on blue ground within illuminated cartouches, text within gold and polychrome rules bordered with a band of stylized gold scroll, with marginal illuminated medallions, each text panel with a inclined illuminated medallions at the outer top corner inscribed with the name of the sura in red thuluth on gold ground, some marginal comments within illuminated medallions, catchwords, opening folio heavily illuminated with polychrome floral scrolls on gold and blue ground, the colophon within large cusped medallions, in fine original lacquer cover binding, good condition
Text panel 4¾ x 2 7/8in. (14.7 x 7.7cm.); folio 8 x 4 7/8in. (20.4 x 12.5cm.)
