The dedication panel on the opening page reads : be-rasm-e ketabkhana-ye al-sultan al-a'zam muzaffar al-din bin sultan muhammad bahador khallad allah ta'ala [mulkuhu?] (For the library of the most great Sultan Muzaffar al-Din son of Sultan Muhammad Bahadur, may Mighty God make his [kingdom] eternal).

The patron is not identified. There is a Timurid Prince with the name Sultan Muhammad Bahadur (son of Baysunqur) who ruled Isfahan up to his death in AH 855/1440-41 AD when he died.

The scribe Amir Ka' bin Mulla Zadeh Mathnavi-khwan (The Mathnavi reciter) is not recorded.

The manuscript bears the seal of a European Charles Bodam (?) dated AH 1200 (November 1785 AD)
