From the Tarikh-i Jahangusha-yi Khaqan Sahibqiran, gouache heightened with gold on paper, depicting a fortress besieged by Shah Isma'il's army, the Shah sits on horseback to the left of the composition before a tower, wearing a white robe, before him a fire is set to the fortress' doors and assailants scale ladders which lean against its wall, meanwhile archers defend from behind the crenellations, with two identification inscriptions, with 3ll. of black nasta'liq in cloud bands on gold ground above and below, laid down within gold and blue borders on gold illuminated orange card, small areas of repainting
