The approx. knot count is 8H x 10V per sq. cm.

The design of this carpet is adapted from that of the large Safavid silk Kashan hunting carpet in the Royal Collection in Sweden (Arthur Upham Pope, A Survey of Persian Art, Oxford, 1938, pl.1193).
