The rectangular engine turned case with engraved intertwined foliage decoration to four sides, top and bottom, diamond set half moon gold mounts to each top corner, the oval enamelled lid with painted floral scene, diamond set and black enamel bezel, the lid opened by a slide in the front panel, revealing the singing bird, flapping its wings, wagging its tail, turning its head and rotating on its axis, with chain fusee movement
