Lot Essay

The decoration of this bowl is identical to the large shaped tray, thought to be part of a tea-service, now in the Melinda and Paul Sullivan Collection, West Hartford, and is presumably the bowl for the service. For an illustration of the tray, see Meredith Chilton et al., Fired by Passion, Vienna Baroque Porcelain of Claudius Innocentius du Paquier (Stuttgart, 2009), Vol. III, pp. 1132-1133.
