1788, BLUE CROWNED INTERLACED L'S ENCLOSING DATE LETTERS ll, PAINTER'S MARK FOR PFEIFFER, INCISED FR
Of cylindrical form with rounded shoulders, a short curved spout, the cylindrical handle terminal fitted with a turned wood handle with brass collar, the domed cover with silver-gilt fittings of swing handle and a hinged cartouche-shaped cover for the swizzel-stick aperture, secured to a ring to the underside and three prongs, painted with a cand of cornflowers to the shoulder on a speckled gilt ground above alternating pink and simulated silk bands dicided by gilt lines (crack to the handle terminal and chip to tip of soput, some areas of wear)
