En suite, each with a shaped rectangular padded back above a serpentine seat covered in green silk damask, on acanthus and cabochon-carved cabriole legs with pad feet, with batten carrying-holes

Supplied to John Spencer, later 1st Earl Spencer (1734-83), probably for Spencer House, London, but possibly also for Wimbledon Park, Surrey or Althorp, Northamptonshire.
Thence by descent to John Poyntz, 5th Earl Spencer (1835-1910) at Althorp, where they are recorded in the Picture Gallery by 1909 and thence by descent.
