TWO JADE ARCHED DRAGON-FORM PENDANTS
LATE SHANG/EARLY WESTERN ZHOU DYNASTY, CIRCA 1200-1100 BC
Both with notched dorsal fin and serrated inner edge to the mouth; the first of pale olive-green color with areas of alteration, with large eyes and a hooked tail; the second of pale olive and brownish color, with chevron designs on both sides; together with a large half disc tapering towards the notched outer edge, Shang dynasty or earlier, the sides probably carved during the Shang period on both sides with a band of scroll-filled triangles radiating from an inner decorative band, with a biconical hole at one end, the stone now opaque and of pale grey-green color
