QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
Made in imitation of 15th century prototypes, with wide square body with faceted corners surmounted by a tubular neck and painted with flowering convolvulus vine below the lipped rim, the neck flanked by a pair of monster-headed handles, the whole raised on a spreading pedestal foot, with apocryphal Xuande mark on the base
7½ in. (19.2 cm.) high
Provenance
Acquired by the grandfather of the present owners, Whampoa, Guangdong, circa 1890-1911, thence by descent within the family.
