The lid with a double dog-shaped hinge, the animal shaped swinging handle mounted in mermaid supports, the clasp modelled as a seahorse, lid stamped with 32, s and makers mark, the punched body with central band depicting a hunting scene, containing ten nesting weights

Nest of weigths of large size are quite rare. The largest known in the Netherlands is a 64 ounce example which is in the collection of the Gruuthuse Museum, Bruges. The present lot weighs 15 kilogram.
