The lid with a double lizard-shaped hinge, the horse shaped swinging handle mounted in mermaid supports, the clasp modelled as a seahorse, lid stamped with 16, fleur-de-lys and makers mark, the body decorated overall with small scrolls and central band depicting a hunting scene, containing ten nesting weights

Georg Schüller is recorded as master founder in Nuremburg in 1633. Nuremburg had a monopoly in weight making during the 16th, 17th and 18th Century, the majority of weights has been made by Nuremberg founders. The troy weights were used for weighing gold and silver.
