Guillaume Noël, recorded at Sèvres as a painter of flowers and patterns, 1755-1800.

Further research in the Sèvres archives should reveal the original sales records for this exquisite example of a rose marbré cup, cover and square tray.

See note to lot 619 for further information about the complicated and costly process of creating a rose marbré ground.
