With two-stage barrel with belled muzzle and signed 'JONES. CORNHILL. LONDON' towards the breech, engraved grooved iron tang, rounded border engraved lock signed 'JONES', figured walnut full stock with raised apron around the barrel-tang, engraved brass mounts including pierced side-plate and spurred pommel with cast and chased cap decorated with foliage against a punched ground, shaped brass escutcheon, and later horn-tipped ramrod, London proof marks, maker's mark of Thomas 4 Jones
