WILLIAM LAMBERT
England's Standard ... Cricketer's Guide; or, Instructions and Rules for playing the Noble Game of Cricket with its Laws corrected. Sussex Press, Lewes: printed and sold by J. Baxter, London: Joy, Simpkin and Marshall, Sherwood and Co., [1829?]. 12mo (141 x 88mm). 47p., woodcut title vignette, full-page diagram (Without frontispiece, light spotting and soiling to title, some corners cropped.) Later green half morocco (rubbed).
'Twentieth' [in fact the twelfth] edition. As Padwick states, the 13-19th editions have not been traced and probably never existed. The scarce 'twentieth' edition was the penultimate, appearing after the eleventh but before the 'twelfth'. Despite mention of 'the plate' in the contents (p. 6), copies are invariably without it. Padwick 383.
