MARK OF JOSEPH CRADOCK AND WILLIAM REID, LONDON, 1824
Bombé oval and on four foliage and shell cast feet, with branch handles and a shell and foliage heightened gadrooned rim, the detachable cover part-fluted and with a melon and foliage finial, engraved twice with a coat-of-arms, the cover engraved twice with a crest, marked underneath, inside cover and on handle

The arms are those of Harvey quartering Bateson impaling Hotham, for Robert Harvey (1791-1863), of Langley Hall, co. Buckingham and his wife Anne, daughter of Admiral Sir William Hotham (1772-1848), whom he married in 1829.
