Lot Essay

In 1792 Louis-Casimir Rolland, Signeur du Roscoat, left France to join to the royalist army. He returned in 1795 but had to remain incognito for three years before he could be reunited with his loved ones. See A. Lebel, French and Swiss armorials on Chinese Export porcelain of the 18th century, Brussels, 2009, p. 181 for further information and an example from the author's collection.
