De forme rectangulaire, à décor moulé en léger relief, sur une face d'un poème intitulé Gui qu lai ci ('Retour au foyer') du célèbre poète Tao Qian (Tao Yuanming, 365-427), le revers illustrant le poème et représentant un personnage armé d'une épée sur un promontoir rocheux, regardant au loin, des paysans labourant leur champ ; l'un des longs côtés portant une inscription en léger relief Da qing qian long wang jin sheng zhi ('Fait par Wang Jingsheng lors du règne de l'Empereur Qianlong de la grande Dynastie des Qing') ; traces d'or et de polychromie

Lot Essay

The poem inscribed on this inkcake was written by the famous poet Tao Qian (Tao Yuanming, 365-427) and untitled Gui qu lai ci. One long edge bears the eight-character mark Da qing qian long wang jin sheng zhi translated as 'Made by Wang Jinsheng in the Qianlong year of the great Qing dynasty'
