Meiji period (late 19th century), signed Saikyo Yamamoto Koken
The vases of baluster form with a long wide everted neck and brown patina, decorated in gilt, copper, silver and shakudo takazogan with monkeys stealing fruit from the branches of a persimmon tree that stands before rockwork and a small flowing stream, the flaring neck with cartouches of insects amongst fruiting vines and flowering blossoms alternated with scenes of birds and geese in flight; signed on base
