A gilt bronze figure of Buddha
Tibet, 16th/17th century
Finely modeled seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base with beaded rims, the hands in dhyana- and bhumisparshamudra, clad in a closely fitted sanghati with borders decorated with incised scrollwork, the serene face with heavy-lidded eyes and full lips flanked by elongated earlobes, with gentle rings around the neck, the hair arranged in tight curls, with an ushnisha surmounted by a smooth knot
