A gilt bronze figure of Vajradhara
Tibet, 15th/16th century
Seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base with beaded rims, the hands crossed at the heart holding the stems of two lotuses rising to his sides supporting the vajra on his right and ghanta on his left, the lower body clad in a long dhoti incised with floral and cloud motifs, the torso adorned with multiple necklaces, bracelets, disk-shaped earrings, and a multi-part tiara all inlaid with hardstones, the face serene with eyes gazing downward centered by a rectangular urna, the hair piled in a chignon surmounted by a vajra
