SONG DYNASTY (960-1279)
Of tapering, high-shouldered form, covered inside and out with a dark brown glaze that ends in a line at the rim and in a neat line mid-body exposing the fine-grained ware, the slightly domed cover with everted rim and small knop similarly glazed; together with a jianyao 'hare's fur' tea bowl, Southern Song dynasty, the conical body covered inside and out with a lustrous black glaze finely streaked with silvery brown 'hare's fur' markings thinning to russet brown at the rim and pooling above the foot to reveal the coarse ware fired a dark purplish-brown color
