A PAIR OF BLUE AND WHITE 'DRAGON AND PHOENIX' BOWLS
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
With steep sides rising to a slightly flared, rounded rim, painted around the exterior with alternating dragon and phoenix roundels framed by conjoined lotus blossoms, the interior painted with a single phoenix roundel beneath a diaper border, the base of one with apocryphal Chenghua mark and the other with a three-legged toad holding a floral spray in its mouth
