SYRIA, 13TH CENTURY
The shallow conical dish with five circular recesses grouped around a central hexagonal recess, each compartment painted in yellow- brown lustre with spiralling foliage, chequer boards and pseudo-calligraphy, the exterior painted in cobalt-blue with a band of pseudo-naskh in lustre around the rim, areas of restoration around the rim and on the exterior
9¼in. (23.5cm.) diam.
