A CAPODIMONTE (CARLO III) OR BUEN RETIRO CHINOISERIE BOWL, COVER AND STAND
CIRCA 1757-63, BLUE FLEUR DE LYS MARK TO BOWL
Painted and enriched in gilding with Orientals in landscape vignettes with exotic flowering plants issuing from rockwork, one with a kneeling before a six armed diety, another holding a bell and kneeling before an altar with an open book, between bouquets of European flowers, the cover with an Oriental lady arranging a vase of flowers beside a trelliswork fence and with an almond finial, the stand with a servant approaching a dignitary seated at a table, gilt line rims (bowl with rim chip, forked crack from rim to base, cover with slight chipping to rim, chip to finial, stand with two minor footrim chips)
