A CAPODIMONTE (CARLO III) CHINOISERIE COFFEE-CUP AND SAUCER
CIRCA 1750, BLUE FLEUR DE LYS MARK
Painted in the manner of Giovanni Caselli with Orientals in gilt robes, the cup with two figures standing before an obelisk, the saucer with a standing and seated figure beside a flaming vase, on grassy terraces, the borders with gilt scrollwork and flowerheads, gilt angular handle (cup with wear to gilding on rim, footrim, handle and one hat, saucer with star crack, chipping to footrim and wear to rim)
