It is thought that Elizabeth Shaw the original owner of the diary, her name inscribed on the personal information page, was a Hendrix groupie and followed the band religiously. Throughout 1967, when Hendrix and the Experience were more easily accessible, Elizabeth Shaw became well acquainted with the band. It is not known exactly where or when each of the autographs were acquired as the diary has changed hands since the signatures were collected.
