The facetted bottle shape of this vase appears to have been popular from the Yongzheng period onward. It was made in both transparent and opaque glass, and in different colours. Two opaque yellow vases of similar shape, one with a Yongzheng mark and one with a Qianlong mark, in the Andrew K.F. Lee Collection, are illustrated in Elegance and Radiance, The Art Museum, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, 2000, nos. 15 and 18, respectively.
