A Belleek 'Chinese' teapot and cover
the compresseed globular body moulded with a scale pattern, the spout formed as a dragon, the straight-sided loop finial and handle formed as tied bamboo branches, supported in three claw feet, enriched in gilt, the cover marked D McBIRNEY & Co BELLEEK FERMANAGH IRELAND in a roundel enclosing a hound, harp and tower mark aboe the inscription FILL WITH WATER/BLOOD WARM AND/ALLOW IT TO STAND/A FEW MINUTES/EMPTY AND USE/WITH BOILING/WATER -- 6in. (15.2cm.) high, late 19th century (chip to one foot, some minor firing faults)
