HENDRIK SCHOONBEEK, AMSTERDAM, EARLY 18TH CENTURY
The case of typical form, the arched moulded hood flanked by columns and surmounted by three giltwood figural finials, the trunk door with circular lenticle, square plinth base, engraved brass dial with moonphase above a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring surrounding a matted centre with subsidiary second ring, date aperture, ringed winding holes and sector for day of week. The movement with anchor escapement and Dutch strike on two bells; pendulum, door key, crank key and two brass weights
