the hood with brass-capped swan-neck pediment and ball and spire finials, outset fluted columns, crossbanding and satinwood line inlay to the trunk with part-chamfered sides and oval conch shell patera, broad crossbanding to the plinth with wavy apron and bracket feet, the arched painted dial signed Rich.d Blakeborough OTLEY No:2176, decorated with flowerhead spandrels and with recumbent woman with basket of flowers to the arch, with mock calendar aperture, the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement -- 90in.(229cm.) high
