the hood with brass-capped swan-neck pediment centred by ball and spire finial, outset fluted columns, stylised flowerhead carving within running guilloche to the panelled trunk door and with conforming decoration to the plinth, on ogee bracket feet, the arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring and centre, gilt-metal foliate mask spandrels, figural mounts symbolising Bounty to the associated arch, signed Stripling Lichfield on the engraved centre with calendar aperture and seconds ring, the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement, case and dial associated -- 84in.(214cm.) high
