The cartonnier with inset pink and grey speckled marble top with three-quarter gallery above a spreading pediment, the front fitted with seven gilt-tooled brown leather-fronted drawers with ormolu acanthus-cast handles, the back and sides inlaid with flower-filled trellis-parquetry, the desk top inset with a gilt-tooled brown leather writing surface above a flower-filled trellis-parquetry frieze fitted with two drawers to the front and two false drawers to the back, one end fitted with a pull-out slide, on square tapering legs and sabots, one lockplate bearing the spurious inscription 'P. SORMANI /10 r. Charlot Paris'
