Each with deep rounded sides rising to a slightly everted rim, the exterior painted in underglaze blue with the Eight Immortals reserved on a background of breaking waves in copper red, with a medallion of Shoulao and a deer on the bottom of the interior, all within blue line borders repeated at the rim, with a Yu Yan Shu Wu (Library for Washing Inkstones) four-character mark on the base
