BAOSHANZHAI ZHI FOUR-CHARACTER MARKS IN IRON RED, DAOGUANG PERIOD (1821-1850)
Each with deep rounded sides flaring slightly towards the rim, the sides painted with a scene of two pairs of pigeons, one pair in brown with black tail, the other pair white, in a setting of tufts of grass and a flowering tree growing behind a pink-blossomed tree to one side and bamboo to the other

Lot Essay

The mark, Baoshanzhai zhi, may be translated as 'Studio for Treasuring Goodness', and is associated with porcelains produced from the Qianlong through Daoguang periods.
