FIRST EDITION with an impressive 199 text blocks showing costume figures after Nicolay, portraits and views. The last part is a translation of the Koran into German, edited by Johan Lange. The greater part of the work comprises a history of the wars between Turkey and Hungary and the recent Venetian-Turkish campaigns in southern Greece from 1684 to 1688, but it also contains 'curious representations of the aborigines of America, all with detailed descriptions of their manners, customs, religion'.
