SAFAVID AND QAJAR IRAN, 17TH CENTURY AND LATER
Arabic and Persian manuscript on paper, two folios with lines of nasta'liq, one 6ll. in yellow, the other 2ll. in black in clouds reserved against gold; one folio with white shikasteh on pink ground signed Mir Muhammad; another with 5ll. of white thuluth alternated with smaller lines of yellow naskh; signed 'Abd al-Muthnib Mir Muhammad al, in the last line of naskh; the final folio with the calligraphy arranged in the form of a bird, each laid down between polychrome rules or minor floral borders on wide colourful marbled card borders, minor staining and scuffing
