Decorated overall with bands of engraved foliage and with floral swags, the rectangular stepped and gadrooned hinged lid enclosing a fitted sandalwood interior, the underside of the lid with a hidden compartment, with waisted sides and hinged to reveal fitted lidded compartments, above a long drawer revealing a hinged writing slope, the sides with silver metal oval medallions of a mask with feathered headdress and handles, the interior of the writing slope inscribed 'ELIZABETH'
