Lot Essay

A pair of lemon-yellow 'bubble' wine cups with Yongzheng marks from the Paul and Helen Bernat collection was sold at Sotheby's Hong Kong, 15 November 1988, lot 59; another pair from a private English collection sold at Christie's Hong Kong, 27 October 2003, lot 702.

Yellow-enamelled wine cups were more commonly produced during the Yongzheng period. The present lot, inspired by its Yongzheng predecessor, is therefore quite rare.
